As a Partner in RSM’s Employer Solutions team Fiona advises companies considering employee ownership, transitioning into employee ownership and navigating to post-transition maze of tax, regulation and practicalities of being employee owned. This can include using a wide range of share schemes to recruit, retain, motivate, reward, engage and align the interests of staff. It isn’t just about tax but finding the best solution for the business. Fiona has over 35 years’ experience as a Chartered Tax Adviser, Trust and Estate Practitioner and is a practising solicitor through RSM UK Legal LLP. Alongside her professional experience, Fiona has also been the MD of an employee-owned company and appreciates the challenges and demands faced by management. She is deputy chair of The Quoted Companies Alliance Share Scheme Experts Group, sits on the Employment Tax Committee of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and was on the Advisory Committee for Office of Tax Simplification’s two reports on Share Schemes. She is a leading figure in the share scheme and employee ownership world. Fiona has worked in a wide range of sectors but in recent years has helped many growth companies as well as established traditional family companies transitioning to their next stage.
