We’re thrilled to welcome another crop of talented EO champions to the eoa Membership Council (EMC).

There’s growth afoot at the eoa Membership Council (EMC). 

As an important support channel for all the work we do here at the eoa, the EMC occupy a valuable place in our community. 

They’ve provided plenty of input into our recently launched UK EO Growth Strategy and will help us achieve our target. 

That’s why we’re delighted to announce three new members have joined their ranks. And less than six months after the last additions!

So, put your hands together and join us in welcoming the newest members to the EMC.

Hayley Russell, Marketing Manager, Matrix Booking

Matrix Booking is a workplace management platform designed for efficient office planning and resource management.

As well as being employee owned, the business is also a certified B Corp and Real Living Wage employer.

Hayley has been an active member of the eoa for years now. In fact, she sat on the judging panel for the ‘EO Transition of the Year’ and ‘EO Rising Star of the Year’ categories at the UK Employee Ownership Awards 2025. She also sat on a session focussed on communications and engagement the eoa Annual Conference 2025.

“Being an EO Champion at Matrix Booking and actively involved with the eoa for some time, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful good communication can be in strengthening employee voice and collaboration,” she said.

“I’m really pleased to be joining the eoa Membership Council and to have the opportunity to help shape how the association supports its members and raises awareness of employee ownership.

“What truly motivates me is ensuring that everyone feels informed, connected, and confident in what employee ownership means for them. 

"I’m looking forward to sharing knowledge, learning from others, and helping to strengthen the sense of community and shared purpose across the EO sector.”

Sam Grubb, Business Development Manager, CleanTEC

Established in 2000, CleanTEC is a contract cleaner employing over 2,300 people, making it one of the largest providers of its kind in the UK.

The business, which made the move to EO in 2021, is also an eoa Trustee member. Discover more about its story in our dedicated case study.

Sam’s been with the business for almost a decade. In his current role, he’s able to champion employee ownership on a daily basis, whether in client meetings or engaging with other contractors.

“I feel very proud to be joining the eoa Membership Council,” he said.

“Employee ownership has made such a positive difference to our company and I look forward to helping others on their own journey.”

Pete Jeffrey, Head of Marketing & Comms, Narro

Narro is an employee owned structural and civil engineering consultancy that’s been servicing a wide variety of projects in the UK and internationally for almost forty years.

Pete’s been with Narro since 2021 and boasts almost twenty years’ experience across the full spectrum of marketing activities. 

“I’m looking forward to joining the eoa Membership Council! Employee ownership is a great route for businesses, and I think it brings a range of benefits to everyone involved,” he said.

“I’m particularly keen to represent a more mature EO business. Narro have been employee owned for over eleven years now, and it’s a really interesting position to be in. 

“We’ve learned a lot along the way and are keen to share that experience, and at the same time we’re always looking for new ways to grow and develop. There’s no end to the EO Journey!”

James Voûte, Business Development Director, Haremi

Haremi, a leading educational content services provider, has been employee owned since 2021.

Currently serving as Business Development Manager, James has previously held leadership roles at beloved brands LEGO and Hasbro.

He joins the EMC, taking over from Anita Harper. A big thanks for all of Anita’s support, insight, and contributions.

"I’m thrilled to be joining the eoa Membership Council at such an exciting time for the employee ownership community,” he said.

“At Haremi, we firmly believe in EO as a force for good, both for our customers and for our partner employees. 

“I’m excited to be adding my voice to help share the benefits of EO to the widest possible audience.”

What Does the EMC Do?

The short answer is that the EMC supports and contributes to a wide range of eoa activity, including events, courses, over on the eo Hub, and much more. 

By offering valuable insights and guidance, the EMC help us design and deliver a proposition that truly resonate with members. 

Not to mention supporting our goal of propelling EO into the mainstream.
