How to Activate Your EO Smile this EO Day

With less than seventy-five days until EO Day 2025, now’s the perfect time to plan your celebration! Don’t worry if you’re stuck for inspiration, we’ve got you covered.

There are so many amazing ways to showcase your #eoSmile this EO Day (Friday 20 June).

Don’t forget to add the Proudly Employee Owned badge to your website and any other marketing materials to let the whole world know you’re EO.

With that out the way, let’s dive into a few of our favourite ways to make the most of EO Day. 

Invite Your MP

Why not invite your MP down to visit your business and / or give you a shout out on socials? 

They’ll be able to get a firsthand look at an EO business in action and ask any questions. And talk about a perfect press opportunity!

Tell the Media

Getting journalists involved in your EO Day activity is a canny way to spotlight your business and help us push employee ownership into the mainstream.

So, invite local or trade media to your event or send a press release across to news desks. Or both!

Host an Event

Hosting a celebration with all your employee owners and wider stakeholders is an amazing way to showcase your EO Smile. 

For the last thirteen years, we’ve loved seeing your EO Day pics on socials. There’s the weather to consider, but the sky really is the limit. 

If you don’t have the space, get in touch with a fellow EO business and combine your celebrations into one big bash. 

Invite Other Businesses

We’ve already touched on teaming up with other businesses above if you don’t have any space to host an event. But you don’t need the excuse. 

Use EO Day to bring local EO businesses together. There’s strength in numbers and building connections and community is one of the key strengths of employee ownership. 

Let Customers and Suppliers Know

EO Day is a great way to raise awareness of employee ownership. That includes among your customers and suppliers. 

We’re sure they’d love to hear more about EO. Doubly so if they’re invited to any parties you’re hosting!

Consider also posting a blog or news story on your website and adding any EO Day activity to your newsletters as well as internal comms streams.
