EOA’s HR and personnel network group met recently at Wilkin & Son’s factory in Tiptree, Essex. The topic under discussion was performance management. Attendees discussed how they handled such thorny issues as poor performance, employee appraisals and keeping abreast of legislation. Stephen Cook, Wilkin’s HR manager, explained the process the company had recently gone through to select and implement a new IT system to support the HR function. The next meeting will look at employee engagement and will take place at Unipart’s location in Cowley.
