Baxendale Fellowship for Stephen May

November 2011

Commenting on the award, John Lewis Partnership Chairman Charlie Mayfield praised Stephen May as a champion of employee ownership. A former personnel director with the Partnership, May is a board member of EOA and was described in the awards citation as “a hero of the employee ownership movement; unshakeable in his conviction about the value of employee ownership, unstinting in his efforts to promote it, yet resolute in his determination that the arguments in favour are always sharp, fresh and rigorous.” The Fellowship is the premier award among eight others rewarding excellence in employee ownership, and are named in honour of Philip Baxendale, founder of the Baxi Partnership, who created and organize the awards.
